PPC urged to kick off the land acquisition on the Refinery expansion project

To ensure the deadline of handing over site (108.2 hectares) to investor of Dung Quat Refinery Expansion Project (DQRE), Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) has directed Binh Son district people’s committee and the Authority of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Provincial Industrial Parks (the Authority) to expeditiously review and concentrate on handling and resolutely resolving the remaining works under their respective competence and responsibility.

PPC requested the PMU of DQRE to actively cooperate with the Authority to work and recommend the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group have comments and feedback Quang Ngai as required.

Reportedly, DQRE was approved by the Government. After the expansion, the capacity of the factory will increase from 6.5 to 8.5 million tons of crude oil per year.

The scale of project investment includes the addition of some new technology workshops, increasing the capacity of existing workshops; auxiliary workshops; adding a SPM to meet the 300,000 DWT load.

At the same time, to upgrade two wharves of offshore ports to meet 50,000 DWT vessels and upgrade the wharves for 30,000 DWT ships, and add crude oil storage tanks, intermediate storage tanks and product storage tanks.

The total investment cost of $ 1,813 billion, the implementation time of 78 months, it is expected to be completed in 2021.

It is known that the Dung Quat Economic Zone has prepared four land plots with a total area of ​​108.2 ha. Of which, the specific area for construction will be  ​​94 ha, the safety corridor area of ​​about 14.2 ha in Binh Tri and Binh Thuan communes, Binh Son district.

The total cost for DQRE’s land acquisition package is said to be 700 billion dong.

Currently, the Management Board is building a 25 ha resettlement site in Binh Tri Commune for resettlement of 340 households with 1,247 people.
