Opening many gates to Dung Quat Economic Zone.

In recent years, Quang Ngai has made active investments in the formation of a bilateral economic zone, as well as opened many gates to Dung Quat Economic Zone to promote sustainable economic development.

In 2016, Tra Bong Bridge with a total investment of more than VND 280 billion was put into operation, connecting Doc Soi – Dung Quat port to create a continuous traffic network. It also links the main traffic axes of Dung Quat Economic Zone for the sake of cargo transportation and im-export activities.

The road project of Tri Binh – Dung Quat port, with a total length of 8.74 km, connecting Dung Quat port with National Highway 1A and Quang Ngai – Da Nang expressway is being completed. Once accomplished, the project will meet the investment and construction demands of some large-scale and important projects such as Dung Quat Oil Refinery Plant upgrading and expansion; Hoa Phat Dung Quat, Dung Quat Thermal Power Plant; especially for investment, construction and development of Dung Quat EZ associated with the development of petrochemical and chemical industry, heavy industry and etc.

Along with that, the transport infrastructure connecting Dung Quat EZ with industrial zones in Central Vietnam is being implemented synchronously.

In the north, when Quang Ngai – Da Nang highway is put into operation, it will shorten the distance and time between Dung Quat EZ and other industrial zones in the central region, such as: Da Nang and Quang Nam, link International transportation in the economic triangle of Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia through the East – West economic corridor which can contribute to the trade in goods.

To the south, Quang Ngai province has invested the Dung Quat – Sa Huynh coastal road, with a total cost of more than 3,700 billion VND. It connects the coastal roads of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh and form a vertical axis linking provinces in the central key economic region. It also contributtes significantly to the socio-economic development.

In 2017, Chu Lai Airport was upgraded and expanded (Phase 1) to meet the demand of 0.8-1 million passengers per year. It will not only shorten distance and time  but also create a great opportunity for Dung Quat EZ to welcome investors.

In order to shorten time from Quang Ngai to Chu Lai airport, the People’s Committee decided to invest in Doc Soi – southern Chu Lai airport with the total investment of nearly VND 162 billion. The project will be implemented in 2018.

In the action program of the Government on implementation of Resolution No.10-NQ/TW dated 03/6/2017 of the 5th plenum of 12th Party Central Committee on developing the private economic sector toward an important driving force of the socialist-oriented market economy, emphasized that “In the coming time, increasing infrastructure investment in Dung Quat EZ, industrial parks and industrial clusters to fully meet the requirements on production and business grounds for enterprises, improving the planning and increase investment in the synchronous development of transport infrastructure and telecommunications.
